What is EPH?

Ephedrine is a derivative of phenylethylamine, and can be obtained from natural sources (it is a plant alkaloid) or by chemical synthesis. Synonyms for this compound encountered are: Ephedrine, (1R,2S)-(-)-α-(1-Methylaminoethyl)benzyl alcohol, (1R,2S)-(-)-2-Methylamino-1-phenyl-1-propanol, L-α-(1-Methylaminoethyl)benzyl alcohol.

Application of EPH

EPH is primarily used as a fat burner. By suppressing appetite, activating lipolysis and stimulating thermogenesis, EPH effectively improves fat burning processes. It stimulates the heart rate, increases blood flow through the heart muscle, and stimulates the respiratory system. The product adds energy, increases the physical performance of the body during training. Because ephedrine improves blood flow through cerebral blood vessels and penetrates the blood-brain barrier, it can exhibit stimulant effects. This means that the compound improves concentration and memory, reduces mental fatigue and alleviates the phenomenon known as “brain fog.” It helps fight fatigue and drowsiness, similar to Sunifiram or FlModafinil.

Mechanism of action

EPH has a direct effect on the sympathetic nervous system. This therefore means that it stimulates the release of norepinephrine. Through this neurotransmitter, EPH affects the nervous system, as well as the cardiovascular system. Another mechanism of action involves activating the conversion of the thyroid hormone thyroxine T4 to triiodothyronine T3. All this translates into stimulation of the central nervous system and cardiovascular system. The heart works faster, blood flow through the coronary and cerebral vessels increases. The effect of ephedrine is also to stimulate thermogenesis, thereby promoting fat burning processes.

EPH dosage

The recommended dosage is 25-50 mg two to three times a day. Because of its stimulating effect, it is better not to take the product in the evening. It is not recommended to exceed a dose of 100 mg per day. To increase the stimulant effect, EPH can be taken together with caffeine.
