Sunifiram

Cas No.: 314728-85-3

What is sunifiram?

Sunifiram ( 1-benzoyl-4-propanoylpiperazine) is a synthetic derivative of piracetam, a nootropic drug. Other names for the preparation include ampakine, DM-235.

It is considered one of the most potent preparations with nootropic effects, which perfectly supports cognitive functions and increases energy levels. Modafinil, for example, has a similar effect. In addition, the product can stimulate the metabolism of nerve cells in the brain, facilitating learning. Possible effects of the product also include mood stabilization, as well as reducing the need for sleep.

Use of sunifiram

To date, there is a lack of reliable clinical studies on the effects of sunifiram on the human body. However, the results of animal studies are very promising. It is known that the preparation is excellent for memory support, and this is true even in cases of surgically or pharmacologically induced memory disorders. In addition, sunifiram has been shown to have a beneficial effect on learning and memory, increasing the rate at which information is assimilated and processed.

By improving perceptual abilities, the product sharpens sensitivity to a variety of external stimuli, including visual and auditory stimuli. In turn, increased perception of tactile stimuli can be accompanied by higher physical arousal and increased libido.

Some studies suggest that sunifiram may have moderate analgesic effects, as well as reducing fatigue and reducing the need for sleep.

Mechanism of action of sunifiram

The mechanism of action of the product has not been fully explained. It is known for sure that it affects the activity of AMPA receptors, hence the common name of the compound – ampakine. Effects on these receptors result in increased levels of the neurotransmitter glutamate. The ultimate effect of such action is to stimulate brain metabolism and neuroplasticity, i.e. the formation of new nerve connections. Certainly, the ultimate effect of the activity is improved cognitive function and easier absorption of information.

Another mechanism of action of sunifiram is to increase the level of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter responsible for efficient learning, perception or memory processes.

Sunifiram – dosage

The recommended dosage of ampakin is 5-10 mg per day. It is best to take the product between meals, sipping generously with water.
