What is forskolin?
Forskolin (isoforskolin, coleonol) is an active compound extracted from Indian nettle, a plant that grows in subtropical climates. Other terms forskolin found in the professional medical literature are: Coleus forskohlii, 7β-Acetoxy-8,13-epoxy-1α,6β,9α-trihydroxy-labd-14-en-11-one, Colforsin, Plectranthus barbatus, Coleus barbatus, Indian coleus, falso boldo, boldo brasiliero, boldo-de-jardim, Indian sage. Forksolin is also recognized by its English name Forksolin.

The recommended dosage of forskolin is 250 mg of the extract standardized to contain 10% forskolin, taken twice a day. Synergistic effects and enhancement of supplementation effects are provided by combining forskolin with caffeine, EGCG or Chinese citronella.
