Analytically, the absence of a strong chromophore is the constraint worth planning around. Purity by area percent on a diode array detector flatters the material, because impurities may absorb strongly where the main component barely absorbs at all. Charged aerosol or evaporative light scattering detection, or coupling to a mass spectrometer, gives a fairer picture, while proton nuclear magnetic resonance against a reference spectrum remains the fastest identity confirmation. Storage follows from the same chemistry: sealed, dry, cool, protected from light, with the desiccant renewed rather than assumed active. Where a lot will be sampled repeatedly over months, splitting it into single-use portions at intake costs a few minutes and removes the repeated humidity exposure that ruins the last portion of an otherwise sound batch.
